You guys, seriously, you need to go to Zion. If you’ve been before then you know what I’m talking about. If you haven’t been, stop what you are doing, find your calendar, and schedule a get away right now. I promise you will not regret it! Zion is one of Utah’s most stunning National Parks. There are lots of things for tourists to do like hiking, biking, and shopping at the local trinket shops; but if you are really hard core you will do a slot canyon. Beware, slot canyons are not for the faint of heart. They¬†have a variety of obstacles that require skill, bravery, and a spoonful of insanity. If you like swimming through hallways of freezing cold water, rappelling 100 foot walls, and bouldering over massive rocks, then slot canyons are for you. If you like putting your life into the hands of a rope, harness, carabiner and belay device, then slot canyons are definitely for you. If you like viewing nature in places where few people have ever seen, then a slot canyon in Zion is the place for you.

This post is a jumpstart to my Slot Canyon Project. Stay tuned for tips, tricks, and lessons learned from canyoneering.
